Refrigerant gas R134A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) and is a commonly used refrigerant in air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. It is a colorless gas that is non-toxic, non-flammable and does not deplete the ozone layer. It has a boiling point of -15.9°C and a pressure of 69.4 bar at 21°C. R134A is primarily used as a replacement for R-12, which is being phased out due to its ozone depleting properties.
